Greetings and salutations from the Circle City (and home of the 2006 Final Four). Don’t ask me why it’s called the Circle City, it just is.
Getting back to my topic, checking out George Mason practice was pretty sweet. A huge crowd was there to witness the Patriots, the first team to practice publicly on Friday. And halfway through the practice, Patriots coach Jim Larranaga made it a point to talk to CBS analyst Billy Packer.

INDIANAPOLIS – After a night at the Omni, we’ve moved into the Downtown Marriott, the media hotel of the NCAA Tournament. We’ll be spending the next few nights here, and that’s definitely a good thing – no more trudging along with luggage in tow to a new hotel, as we did this morning.
It was actually a pretty big challenge. We needed to sleep in after a loooonnnnng day Thursday. We woke up around 10 and had to be out of the Omni by noon. The Marriott people had told us that rooms would probably be available around noon.
And, of course, Mason’s practice started – when else? – noon.

Brian Hunsicker met up with Chris Fleming’s parents today in Indianapolis. Steve and Trudy Fleming made the drive from Manassas to watch their 6-foot-8 son play in the Final Four. Listen to an audio clip from Hunsicker’s interview with the proud George Mason parents.
Hunsicker also spoke with Eric Gulbrandsen, a 2004 graduate of George Mason who currently lives in Indiana, where he spent part of his life growing up. Listen to the alum’s take on his school’s history-making postseason performance.

Greetings and salutations from the Final Four!
Yawn. Excuse me, I have had a long day filled mostly with time looking out the windows of the Atlanta airport and two planes. When I finally got here, I found myself in a hotel room full of Florida Gator fans (insert boos here, Patriot Platoon). That’s okay, though, Rams brewery and restaurant made up for the four-hour layover and foreign accommodations. The service was great and the beer was cold.

INDIANAPOLIS – That sleeping thing didn’t go so well.
I managed to get to bed at 1 a.m., two hours ahead of my normal time but well after when I should have – especially since I got up at 4 a.m. to catch a 6:30 flight.
Now, at 7 p.m., I don’t think buying a Starbucks could keep me awake past 10. And I don’t mean just a coffee, I mean the whole darn store.
