Man struck by vehicle in Woodbridge

A 46-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the corner of Prince William County Parkway and Smoketown Road Tuesday night.

The unidentified man was unconscious and treated at the scene by Prince William County and Dale City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments, then airlifted to INOVA Fairfax Hospital Trauma Center, which landed in the Gar-Field High School parking lot.

Eastbound traffic on Prince William Parkway was stalled and traffic turning left from Smoketown Road onto Prince William Parkway was detoured while Prince William County Police investigated the incident.

Man found dead overnight in Manassas

1:10 p.m.
A 22-year-old man was found dead overnight in Manassas.

Police found the body of Kyle L. Turner on Nicol Lane, said Sgt. Tim Neumann, Manassas Police.

Police were patrolling in the area and responded to gunshots heard around 12:30 a.m.

A citizen also called police to notify them of the body in a parking lot.

Police said that Turner was living in Manassas in a nearby apartment community.

Turner’s girlfriend said that he has family in Alexandria. Another friend said that he is originally from Maryland.

There are no suspects or witnesses at this time and police are still investigating.

Osbourn takes down Chantilly

Osbourn High School senior quarterback Brandon Hogan rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead the Eagles to a 42-20 win over Chantilly High School in the Group AAA Division 6 state football championship at Freedom High School.

Hogan accounted for all of Osbourn’s touchdowns in the game. With the win, the Eagles finished 14-0 in winning the school’s first-ever state title in football.

Osbourn jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the second quarter behind three touchdown runs by Hogan of 42, 4 and 4 yards. He also connected with Cornell Jones on a 47-yard touchdown pass.

In the second half, he hit Julian Beale for a 34-yard touchdown pass and Jones with a 47-yard touchdown pass.

OSBOURN FOOTBALL: Saturday is game day

Osbourn meets Chantilly this Saturday to vie for the Group AAA, Division 6 title at Freedom High School in Woodbridge.

There’s no shortage of school spirit in Manassas this week. Osbourn battled through the 2006 football season and now the school and its neighbors are ready to bring home the championship title.
