A Hispanic woman came to the podium and talked about having the right to be here. If she is talking about illegal immigration, then I think she misspoke. It is a bad idea for people who want to oppose this illegal immigration resolution to talk about having the right to be here.
They actually don’t.

More people have signed up to speak. We are well over the 200 mark at this point.
One of the other reporters in the press room pointed out that with 200 people speaking for 3 minutes each, this citizens’ time will last for approximately 10 hours. Another reporter was wondering whether this is the longest citizens’ time in the history of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. I don’t know.

A woman came to the podium with a poem. It began with this line, “Have you ever had a child that doesn’t get what it wants?”
The poem went on to describe how children, when they don’t get what they want, pout and scream and fight for what they want. But the reasonable adult must stand firm and not give in to the child’s demands. This is in everybody’s best interest, according to the poem.

An elderly couple on a fixed income is talking to the supervisors about their home. The value of their home declined because a number of houses in their neighborhood were being used as “boarding houses.” These are houses where a large number of people, sometimes unrelated, are living together in single-family homes. What was meant for the use of one family ends up beings used by multiple families.

Keith estimates that the crowd outside is about 1500 to 2000 people now. There are men pushing carts around selling ice cream to the crowds. These are probably some of the same ice cream vendors that are being targeted in Manassas as being undesirable. I don’t think they will have a problem making sales here.
Now, 195 people are signed up to speak. The hours stretch before us like eternity. Everybody will get their chance to speak. Everybody will be heard.
